“People come, people go – they’ll drift in and out of your life, almost like characters in a favorite book. When you finally close the cover, the characters have told their story and you start up again with another book, complete with new characters and adventures. Then you find yourself focusing on the new ones, not the ones from the past.”—Nicholas Sparks, The Rescue
Having a crush is, hands down, one of the most annoying things ever. Maybe I’m the only one who feels that way and it’s probably because no guy ever likes me (back) but still. It’s just awful when you’re even more self-conscious than usual, every little thing you do in their presence is analysed and criticised for hours afterwards and you feel like an idiot when you get caught staring at them again. When even a good hair day isn’t good enough compared to all those other girls. It really sucks when you have a moment of eye contact with them only to come to the realisation that nothing will ever happen. But what’s the worst is that you can’t stop thinking about them and they’re on your mind, always.
